PRV in Senan
In Senan, we are using PRV as a strategy of soil rehabilitation at a large scale. Many of the parcels in which we are working were used intensively for agriculture before being abandoned for poor returns. Others have never been cultivated. However, most have not in the last century hosted animals for nutrient cycling. By bringing animals to the parcels and moving them daily in an intensive pattern of grazing, we are encouraging a more rapid regeneration of the ground plane and building up organic matter (the microbial and fungal communities which are critical for the development of healthy soil.)
